The Wild Orchid, just around the corner from trendy Bedford Place, came highly recommended from our guest book;  and how right they were.

 

This is a smart Wine Bar/Restaurant frequented by a well suited and booted clientele at lunchtime.  Simple and well spaced tables with crisp white linen.  TARA very pleasantly greeted us, served our wine, 2 bottles of House White, and lunch at the table.

 

The starters are ample portions and we sampled Prawn and Avocado Salad, Warm Bacon and Avocado Salad, plus Stuffed Large Mushrooms with Prawn and Cheese toppings.  All delicious!  We could have quit while we were ahead but no....

 

Main courses included grilled Scottish Salmon with  mixed fresh vegetables, moist and tasty;  Chicken with Thai noodles, this dish was very rich & spicy;  Chicken Wild Orchid was an interesting mix of tender chicken breast, bacon, mushrooms with a cheese covering, yummy!

 

The dessert listing will be tempting to the sweet-toothed  and  Wild Orchid Outrageous Sundae (for two or more) just might hit the spot.  For the more restrained there is always sorbet. 

 

(It is possible to have snacks served at the bar, i.e. Nachos, Club Sandwiches or Steak Sandwich with Fries.) 

 

A really pleasant eating experience in an unhurried atmosphere rounded off with coffee.
