Four of us didn't know we were going to end up here as we had been talking part in a treasure hunt & the White Lion was the end of the route.

We were tired & hungry, it had been a long day. Staff were very friendly but the " have seen better days" interior decor led one to be a bit apprehensive as to what the standard of the food would be like.  We were pleasantly surprised!  I had Butcher's Bangers with Mash & Onion Gravy, another choice was Lambs Liver, Bacon & Mash, also Whole Tail Scampi with Chips & Peas, & Ham, Egg & Chips.  All were delicious & it was reported that the liver was the best my friend had tasted for years.  We mostly had soft drinks & coffees.

Our choices were from the All Day Menu but there is another menu for The Lion Restaurant which is open Wed - Sat 18.30 - 21.00.  The White Lion is a 17th Century pub located next to St Peter's Church in the very pretty village of Soberton.  They stock a range of cask ales & fine wines.  I like their idea that if the driver is nominated at the time of booking they will receive free soft drinks!

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
