This was an unplanned visit for a snack lunch on our way to Lymington for retail therapy!  We made a good choice as it was a quiet location with easy for parking and prompt service. Saturdays in Lymington for both parking and eating can be bedlam .

The Wheel Inn is an unassuming local pub. The decor is perhaps a tad tired and in need of a facelift but I feel like that too sometimes!!  Chris - front of house was attentive and helpful. Pip the landlord is also the chef and told me they do a Sunday Roast and that they use local produce.

I have to say the menu was very tempting and a fair price too. Plenty of fish dishes and there are also daily specials, (see menu below).
We both chose whole smoked trout served with fresh salad leaves and new potatoes. A generous serving and good value at £8.
Having only tried one dish it is a little difficult to judge the food but we did enjoy our choice.

Cost £ £

1. Quality of food  3/5
2. Variety of menu  4/5
3. Staff & Service  3/5
4. Ambience, setting and decor  2/5
5. Value for money  4/5

Total Yummy Factor 16/25

Report JI

5/5 = Cannot be improved upon, 4/5 = Very good, 3/4 = Good, 2/5 = Satisfactory, 1/5 = Poor, 0/5 = Terrible

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
