Revisited on St.George's Day 2005

We revisited this pub on the Saturday 25th April 2005, needless to say very busy but fortunately we had booked.  Great atmosphere, some fancy dress and should have been a live band.  Unfortunately band let them down at the last minute so great singing pair of ladies know as North n' South saved the day and really got the joint jumping!

Anyway down to the food, there were four and we only had main courses all of which were excellent.  Two had Tuna Steak with fries and loads of vegetables.  One had Scallops wrapped in Bacon and I had a large bowl of Mussels served with French Bread and Salad.  A lot of wine was consumed to say nothing of dancing so regretfully I cannot remember exactly the cost but remember thinking it very reasonable at the time.  Up-grade to 8 and definitely worth a visit!

We spent a very enjoyable (because of the company) Sunday lunch here sat in the back garden.  There is a small printed menu with sufficient choice but there is also a chalk board with dishes of the day including, of course, a Sunday roast.  Portions & quality of food average.  We all like wine spritzers so must remember next time to buy a bottle of house white & mixers, would be much cheaper!  Staff friendly & helpful.  The pub is all on one level very suitable for wheelchairs.  From past experience this pub is cosy & welcoming in the winter with a large log fire, comfy sitting area, just right after a walk in the forest!

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
