Walkabout Inn

On Bank Holiday Monday, in May2001,  had a very enjoyable lunch.  This building was the old Bank of England before the Aussies moved in and totally changed the inside.  It's an excellent pub for those who wish to watch sports on a very large screen.  Fortunately the day we had our lunch the sun was shining and so we sat outside,  but there are areas in the pub where you do not have to watch television.   Our lunch was excellent value  - a club sandwich,  a tortilla wrap and a really juicy kangaroo steak!  Average cost per head £4.50.

Virtually all the staff are Australian and  very friendly.  The only possibly  downside is that the loos were upstairs and as far as I could see there is no lift but I can't imagine in this day and age that there are not disabled toilet facilities.

There are daily offers on drinks, and food is served all day.

Yummy factor 7/10

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
