We found The Ship by a fluke whilst looking for somewhere to eat.  I am sure this pub was one that was popular in my youth so it must have been around for years & years!

It wasn't very busy, though there may have been more people eating outside than we realised.  We sat in the conservatory area which along with part of the olde worlde bar is non smoking; on the other side of the building is a smoking bar.  Lots of bits and pieces to look at, my husband counted 49 model elephants; unfortunately he had time to do this because we had to wait ages for our food!

It was the usual routine, order at the bar and then they serve you your food.  When it did eventually arrive it was good and obviously freshly cooked but we had rather lost our appetites by then.  I chose The Ship Inn Double Quarter Pounder Beef Burger with Cheese & Bacon served with Coleslaw, Tomato Salsa, Salad & Chips... very yummy but don't tell Weight Watchers!  My husband chose his favourite, Local Pork & Leek Sausages with Mashed Potato & Grain Mustard Sauce.

Saw tasty looking door step sandwiches being served.

We shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio.
