We were looking forward to trying Oxford Streets latest eatery, Scoozi, especially as it's the sister restaurant of the famed Oxfords.  The offer of 2 pizzas or pastas plus a free carafe of wine for £20 was also an attraction.  As it turns out this is not such an amazing deal as none of the pastas & pizzas are more than £9.50 so it's just the wine that is free.  By my measures a couple of large glasses!  (See the menus on their website).

Scoozi is in the delightful building that used to house the sadly missed Radley's.  A very attractive room with open kitchen and an impressive bar but as there were only two other tables occupied it lacked atmosphere but it would be fabulous on a busy night!

Our server was French and she was delightful; very warm and welcoming and our table was comfortable with banquette seating.

Unfortunately we were not madly impressed with the food.  The calamari was tough, in my opinion the grilled bread with the brushetta was a little thick but it was tasty as was the baked goats cheese.  For mains two chose pasta dishes which were OK but it was the pizzas that we were really disappointed with.  Mine, the Quattro Stagione, pictured above right, was swimming in oil with a very soggy base and the Calzone had very little filling, just a lot of tomato on top.

However the puddings were good!  Chocolate brownie with pistachio ice cream, Honeycomb cheesecake, the best choice, and Tiramisu, all priced around £4.75.

As we had starters, puds an extra bottle of wine and coffee and liquors the bill worked out to approx £30 a head.  The offer finishes the end of April '09.
