Report to be posted ASAP!

This Chinese Restaurant is situated next to the Hamble River in Bursledon.  It has been there for many years but the reporter, who lives nearby, has never been before so was very interested to get invited.  We had a great evening at this busy restaurant on Friday 6th September 2002.

There were 7 in our party and as there was a set menu for £19 per head for parties of 8 or more we asked if we could choose this.  As they were very busy and presumably it made life easier for them, they agreed.  We started with Chinese chicken and sweet corn soup, followed by crispy duck thin pancakes, excellent.  After a short break lots of hot plates arrived along with 6 different Chinese dishes and 2 of rice.  The food was good and probably if you like a huge plate full there is not enough for 7.  If this amount was for 8 people then it definitely was not enough.  However our 7 found it adequate.  The puddings are not included in the set price and they are around £3.50 each.  Three of our party had desserts, 2 ice creams and one large plate of deep fried bananas.  We only had 1 bottle of wine as the men had beers.

Now the main reason for this outing was a birthday celebration and as the Birthday Boy paid the whole bill I am not able to tell you how much the drink prices were.  There is a small dance floor and a DJ of the slightly older generation, played mostly oldies but he got everyone dancing!  Good atmosphere because it was busy and lots of private parties, obviously it would be quieter during the week as dancing is on Fridays and Saturdays, when booking is necessary.

There are takeaway facilities which I shall now try.

Yummy Factor 7/10

Report SM

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
