UPDATE APRIL 2007

I took the opportunity to visit Reggina's along with my husband and Telegraph lunch tokens.  These £5 lunch offers are "a very mixed bag" but knowing we already had had a good experience of dining here some time ago I was hoping for a repeat performance.  I was not disappointed I was still impressed with our lunch, service and surroundings.
The food is delicious - we both had a selection of Bruchettas for starters and followed with Spaghetti Carbonara and Pizza Reggina. We ordered an extra Ceasar salad and a couple of lagers and still only managed to pay £17 for the two of us! Our choices were made from the regular menu. Prices for starters between £6.50-£7.50 and main courses between £14-£15. This restaurant is well worth a visit - freshly prepared food, good service and comfortable surroundings.

I note they now have a web site but not sure how up to date the menus are as the Christmas one is still on there!

Cost almost £ £  ( was using £5 vouchers)

Reggina's is the more elegant sister of the restaurant Tosca's in Southampton. ( Report on site).  It is nestling in the quaint old village of Botley & is in keeping with its surroundings.

Very friendly staff & a good atmosphere for so early in the week.  We were 6 dining on a Monday evening for a friend's birthday.  Knowing their portions are ample in size we only had one starter of delicious fresh calamari's fried in a light batter on a bed of green salad and garlic dressing.  This was from the specials board. Their hot and cold starters are too numerous to mention but are priced between £5 and £6.  We were advised of several specials for our main course but 4 decided on a salmon parcel with mascapone and spinach wrapped in filo pastry, absolutely delicious!  I chose calves liver with caramelised onions and bacon ( yummy) and lastly a sirloin steak with pepper sauce.  The first steak was a little tough  but they changed it for a very tender one with no problem.  Our vegetables were cauliflower in a white sauce, a carrot mash and crunchy  sautéed potatoes.

Although the desserts looked delicious we had organised a birthday cake so did not try them on this occasion.  We had the house white at £11.95 and drinks on arrival, coffees to finish.

Cost Just over £ £ £ £

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
