A restaurant overlooking Winchester cathedral.  On the evening we visited the bell ringers were in full peal which we found charming.  We had a round table at an upstairs window which gave us a pleasant view.  There is no smoking upstairs but you can smoke in the bar area where you can also eat.

The food is reasonably priced, starters range from £4.25 - £5.75 but you can read all about the prices, menus & location on their website.  I chose Scallops wrapped in a Smoked Bacon with a Pesto Dressing.  We all agreed that The Caramelised Red Onion, Cherry Tomato & Goats Cheese Tartlet with Walnut Salad was the nicest starter.

For a main course I chose Tiger Prawns & fresh vegetables cooked in a Thai Green Curry, served with coconut rice & prawn crackers.  We also sampled Wild Mushroom and herb risotto cakes served with a lemon & herb sauce, finished with rocket, parmesan & truffle oil.  The  Sirloin steak &  also the Confit Duck leg served on garlic crushed potatoes were very tasty.

I would like to return & sample their lunchtime menu.

We had one delicious pudding, one cheese, pre dinner drinks, 2 bottles of wine and various coffees therefore
