On a recent visit to North Wales I was taken to this very popular venue at the recommendation of my hosts.  It is a Pub/Restaurant with much more emphasis on restaurant.  Unless you book I would think it was difficult to get a table, although the place is not small.

If you are after a weekend break there is a delightful, recently refurbished, cottage opposite the pub that is available for rental.  The cottage is owned by the Proprietors of the Queen's Head - see advert.

Back to the food.  We were a party of 6 and apart from me, all had enjoyed food here on several occasions.  None of us had starters as the main courses are  generous.  I and one other chose halibut from the Specials Board, which had been poached in rhubarb and orange sauce @ £11.95, yummy.  A slow roasted duck also @£11.95 was very much enjoyed as it was nice and succulent .  Two more had  excellent sea bass served on a bed of spinach @£9.50 each.  A nice selection of vegetables was included for us all.  Our youngest diner had a small portion of lasagne and French fries @£4.95 also very yummy.  2 excellent wines were enjoyed, a Tarrango red at £12.50 and a house white Sauvignon Blanc @£11.25.

Somehow we managed 3 puddings between us !  A good selection of cheese and biscuits @£4.25.  A fruit Pavlova @£3.95 and a fresh fruit cube of mixed berries and custard @£4.25.  Puddings were served with either cream or fresh fruit coulis if required.  With a couple of cokes and coffees our bill came to just under £100 - about £16.50 per head.

Yummy Factor 8/10

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
