Revisited August 2008 for lunch.  Since Puccinis was taken over by the Dalmeny Leisure group it has been open for lunch but I have just checked out their web site and find that the Bedford Place Puccinis does a lunch time buffet for £6.95!  I wish the Shirley one did as they don't even have a set lunch time menu but I have found a printable 20% voucher for discount on the final bill, at certain times, for the Shirley branch...... new motto, always check out the web site before visiting!  Good pastas & pizzas and they still do the great brushetta.  Good service so will leave yummy factor at 8/10

I am very pleased that at last I have an excellent restaurant close to home.  It is attractive to look at, has a good atmosphere, looks busy every time I pass, good service and most importantly excellent food!

I went with friends.  We had all decided we were only going to have a main course....... before we got in the door.  Once we saw the dishes they were serving our good intentions went to pot & we had the lot!  We all had the same starter their Brushetta al pomodoro, Italian bread with cherry tomatoes (piles of them), pesto, onion & garlic, it was fantastic, best brushetta I have ever had & would make a wonderful lunchtime snack with a glass of wine, it was very generous in size.  To follow two of us chose Pollo alla Diavola, fresh chicken breast (very succulent) with a ham, mushroom, garlic, onion, pepper, chilli, cream & Napoli sauce, served with a choice of potatoes & vegetables or French fries & salad.  The other choice was Penne all'Arrabiata, Italian maccheroni in a Napoli sauce with garlic, chillies, & slices of spicy Italian sausage.  Very tasty.

We did only have one pud between us as we were so full.  We chose a chocolate pancake, it was enormous so we rolled out of the door but may have been something to do with the 2 bottles of House Wine we enjoyed.

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
