I have "borrowed" the Posh logo from their web site!  I hope they will take this as a compliment, and I am helping to advertise their restaurant.  Their very tasteful stationary is so delicate that my scanner did not do it justice.

We decided to try this restaurant having seen an advert for their Lunch Buffet for only £3.95(!) a head, as part of our, many, celebrations for S.M's Birthday!  There were 8 of us.

This restaurant has to have the most beautiful and opulent interior decor I have seen for many years and I urge all of you to visit just to admire it!!!    It is obvious it is going to be special when you get to the top of the stairs, the white paint work is pristine and the touches of French Navy give a very nautical feel.  This colour scheme is carried on through out the first room, which is for pre-dinner drinks and is full of lovely squashy sofas, and on into the restaurant itself which is enormous!  Again all the fixtures and fittings are luxurious and tastefully chosen.   Even though it is so big, and they were not busy, it still has a cosy atmosphere.  You must use the ladies' loos!  Again in pristine condition and with individual, spotlessly white, hand towels supplied.

The staff were very polite and attentive an attitude which started when we phoned to book the table.  As soon as they realised it was someone's Birthday the pianist, (yes they had a live pianist as well!) played Happy Birthday.

They gave us a well designed booklet describing that the inspiration for their restaurant is from the era when the Colonials were in India.  The outcome was a combination of English and Indian food as both races learnt to adapt to each others ways.

I know the food is supposed to be the main topic for these reports but we were all far more impressed with the surroundings!  The buffet consisted of several different curries of varying strengths.  My favourite dish was fried vegetables.  Pudding was just tinned fruit.  For £3.95 it was fine but we will go again to try the proper menu.  We had various drinks. They also do an evening buffet, £9.95 Mon-Thurs, and £14.95 Fri & Sat.

Cost £ £

Yummy factor 8/10  Hopefully when we have eaten there again we will be able to award a smiley!

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
