I thoroughly recommend this restaurant - make sure you book -  for good food, friendly service, sumptious surroundings and of course the fabulous ocean view.

When we first arrived we were delighted to find that the lovely Salvatore (ex Quindells) is the manager!  Of course our cover was blown as he remembered us but I still have no hesitation in saying that Pebble Beach is still highly deserving of it's 9/10.  It is refreshing to find a restaurant that has kept up such high standards over the years.

We three chose from the "lighter options" menu, apart from a starter of Scallops served on a medley of beans, spring onion, peas with a courgette vinaigrette. The Tempura Tiger Prawns served with sweet chilli sauce were delicious, and the Seafood Pancake, served with a salad, absolutely scrumptious and all cooked to perfection.  Lighter options are priced under £10.  Have a look at the menus on their website.

We chose a light white Chilean wine - Casa la Joya Chardonnay £12.95

Although this was not an extensive meal and we did not judge many of their dishes I saw various presentations of their food and it all looked very tempting!

The restaurant was full and Salvatore told me it is very popular with regular customers appreciating the freshly cooked food.

Revisited by SM in November 2005 Still very high standard, well deserving of its 9/10 & it's bedrooms are gorgeous!  Look at their web site for more details.

Visited November 2003

We were tempted to try Pebble Beach with the promise that the former head chef at The Chewton Glen had joined their team, we were not disappointed!

A charming young lady told us about the specials in a very descriptive manner & we ordered a bottle of Viognier to drink whilst we looked through the menu.  Plus another later on!

The starters were all good. M. chose Chinese Roast Pork in Mooshu Pancakes from the Light Bites menu.  I chose Remoulade of Tigi Prawns, C. & M. had Terrine of Beaufort Cheese.  They were all generous portions & scrummy!  The main course choices were Grilled Lemon Sole ( beautifully cooked ), Blue Fin Tuna, cooked rare as ordered, Red Mullet with Citrus Fruits ( bit bony but it is a fish!).  My choice of Scallops was replaced with Scallops with Chicory which I'm ashamed to say I didn't notice until halfway through eating it!  The mistake was dealt with in a very professional manner & the price deducted from the bill.  Only 2 puds were ordered by Big M!  Stewed Figs with Mascarpone & a cheese cake.  A very delicious meal which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

I suggest you view the website to see full details of the menus, wine lists, opening times etc.  Pebble Beach is in a wonderful location on the cliff top over looking the Solent.  It would be a wonderful place to visit on a sunny day when one could make use of the terrace.

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
