Revisited July 2005 & still up to standard, must be one of Southampton's most popular venues.

Revisited August 2003,

Pleased to say that apart from a wonky table, we were eating out side, everything still up to original standard!

We were really looking forward to lunching here and were not disappointed.  Its co- owned by Jimmy who used to have La Lupa & Simon of Simon's wine bar fame, (sorry cant remember surnames), who are part of the aristocracy of Southampton's restaurant owners!!  Both were in attendance and looking very dapper!  Bet they'll love this if they read it.

The restaurant is very attractive, lots of cream, wood flooring and super paintings.  Busy, buzzy, atmosphere.  Friendly efficient staff, excellent restaurant manager.  Advisable to book.

Unfortunately this really was a business lunch so it was fairly "dry" cant wait to go back when off duty!

Having only just got around to looking at their very stylish web site and don't know why I am bothering to write this, just go visit!  You will find out the surnames (!) can see the decor & read the menus!

I chose Smoked Haddock & Chive Fish cakes on a Beurre Blanc sauce, two chose Calves Liver with caramelised onions & crisp bacon on bubble & squeak, another had Croque Monsieur and our host had Roasted Mediterranean Tart with melted goats cheese.  All were beautifully presented and delicious.  We all shared two puddings, Caramelised Banana Crème Brulee & Fudgey Chocolate Brownie with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce, both to die for.

Average Cost, approx, (because I was a guest), & with out drinks  £ £ £

Yummy Factor 9/10

Report C.J

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
