Revisited June 2004 Enjoyed another great roast lunch, pleased to report still up to previous standard!

Visited April 2003    Revisited by CV in June 2003, says they now have a lovely garden & patio area, very enjoyable on a hot sunny day! NB Strong recommendation by Guest Book entrant to remember to stipulate at time of booking if you want non smoking!  They were not asked for their preference & ended up having a great meal spoilt by a cigar smoker.

This lovely thatched pub has just been renovated and taken over by the same landlord & landlady that used to run the excellent Three Tuns in Romsey.  They still offer the same high standard of food & very reasonable prices.  The surroundings are obviously smarter now but still in the "olde worlde" pub style.  Very friendly & efficient service and for the second time in a week we had waitress service!!

There were seven of us for Sunday Lunch,  it was not very busy but then it has only just opened so it soon will be when word gets around & I would advise booking.  Five of us had roast, 4 lamb, 1 beef (the other choice available was pork), generous portions of meat, fabulous roast potatoes, plenty of vegetables, Yorkshire pudding ( I love this fashion of serving YP with any meat now) & very tasty gravy.  The other two both had Calves Liver & bacon served on a massive mound of mashed potato with vegetables.   Everything was delicious.  Only one pudding, we were so full, their home made treacle tart & ice cream, gorgeous!  All main courses were £7.50, puddings £3.95.  With various drinks
