Said to be the oldest purpose built hotel in England for all you historians. Situated nearby are the famous Abbey House Gardens, well worth a visit any time of year. The Old Bell  is a charming hotel with an interesting lunchtime menu. Service was friendly and the surroundings very attractive.  Go there if you feel like a change of scene, Malmesbury is a charming village full of history.
