New Park Hotel, Brockenhurst - situated on the A337 approximately 2 miles from Brockenhurst and on the edge of the New Forest Show Site.   The restaurant is in a beautiful old hotel.   Mainly you are seated in an anti-room to the main dining room.   This is a lovely, intimate room with a splendid view of the pond and the forest in the distance.

The staff are very friendly, helpful and discreet.   You are made to feel extremely welcome.

The menu is as attached:

I had Warm Bacon and Mushrooms pan fried in garlic and butter on salad leaves.   This was an excellent hot smoked bacon and mushrooms in a very flavoursome sauce  - not too garlicky - placed on salad leaves.   Served at the same time are a choice of hot rolls.

The wine we had to accompany our meal was a Chardonnay from the bar.    It was the ideal temperature and a decent flavour.

My main course was Pan Fried Chicken breast in a wild mushroom sauce which was served on a compote of mixed onions and peppers.   The portions are more than sufficient.

In all - this is the 2nd time of eating - I would judge it to be a high 9 out of 10.   Well worth a visit and certainly one of the best in terms of value for money I've eaten for a long time!

Couldn't manage a pud!
