This is such a busy pub, part of Fuller's English Inns Group.  They are doing amazing business & they serve food all day!  People seemed to come & go quite quickly so think you would always get in.  I imagine it must be a great favourite in the summer as there is a massive garden.  Don't be put off by what I thought was a fairly tatty outside, expect it looks better in the summer, as the inside is warm & welcoming with real fires.  A tip, if you can bear it sit in the smoking area there are no children there!

Three of us had the carvery roast, one beef, two lamb, very generous portions of meat carved for you & then you can help yourself to as much of you like of the vegetables which were perfect & the yummy roast potatoes!  Our fourth member had Wild Boar & Apple Sausages on Spring Onion Mash, very tasty!  We were very piggy & all had puds...... Apple pie, apple & plum crumble, both served with custard, treacle sponge & warmed chocolate fudge cake, all delicious & millions of calories.  Drinks, a bottle of house white & beers.

Staff very friendly & helpful & as an added bonus apparently the daily paper was conveniently displayed above the necessary area in the gent's loo!!
