THE MILL TAVERN, LIPHOOK ROAD, SHOTTERMILL, WEST SUSSEX. TEL 01428 643183

I visited this Pub/Restaurant yesterday and although the address is West Sussex I have put it in Hampshire as well as Out of Hants. as it is just on the border and very near to Liphook.

It was a wet rainy day and to find a lovely big roaring fire when we arrived was great.  It is one of those places that had many eating areas and you place your order at the bar.  Large chalk board with a good choice of dishes.  Oldie worldie wooden tables and chairs and, although in need a bit of re-decoration, it was cosy and welcoming.

Two chose the most yummy looking home-made chicken and bacon pie with lovely short crust pastry topping.  Packed with great chunks of moist chicken, and served with new potatoes and a selection of vegetables at £8.95 was really good value.  I had  Mediterranean vegetables and feta cheese filo pastry parcels with salsa and salad at only £5.95 so very reasonable.  We were suitably full so no puds to report on but two had coffee,  the best part of which was the amoretti biscuit served with it as it was rather weak.

Cost £ £

Yummy factor 8/10 because of the pie!

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
