It has been a while since we visited The Mayfly and although not many changes have been made it still remains a very attractive spot for al fresco dining. It is a very popular venue with plenty of outside seating alongside the river and also a large conservatory. Food is served from 11.30am to 9.00pm every day but being so popular one has to expect a queue at the food counter where you can select your meal and self serve a salad. The choices are large to suit all tastes including hot dishes. We chose the Lasagne, delicious cold rare Roast Beef, Gammon Ham, each served with new potatoes and we made our own selection from the salad bar. The desserts, Sticky toffee, Treacle Sponge and Brulee were good.

This is an ideal summer venue for families with children, dogs and even smokers (it is allowed outside)! The ducks and swans are waiting for your leftovers.
