I went here with 4 friends for lunch.  Talk about recession beating pub grub..... 2 courses plus a soft drink or coffee for £5!  OK so the scampi we all chose were obviously frozen but they tasted fine and the chips were plentiful and hot and crunchy just as they should be.  The peas were best ignored but there was plenty of tartare sauce for chip dipping.  The steamed golden sponge pudding was amazing; lots of syrup covering the moist sponge and served with a choice of cream, ice cream or custard.  The other pud choice was ice cream, 3 massive scoops!  I think there were about 4 or 5 choices of main course and such generous portions.  The staff say this offer has been so popular that they ask for patience as sometimes there is a wait for food!  Also they are not sure how much longer it will be available.

We were all very hungry so really enjoyed our lunch and this will make you laugh... we most probably enjoyed it so much because we had all just come from our Weight Watchers meeting and so were indulging in forbidden fruit!!  This is not the place for gourmet dining and really I should only give the food 2/5  but it was just what we needed at the time and excellent for economy; their house wine is only just over £6 a bottle!  On this occasion most were driving so we only had either a spritzer or a soft drink.  We finished with the coffee that was included in the price so therefore the....
