We travelled down to Exeter to meet with family for lunch. After a slow journey  we were glad to arrive at this picturesque pub on the estuary at Topsham.

There were six of us & we all ate fish.

We felt the crab salad starter was quite small for £5.25.but the crab was good & served with crunchy brown bread!

The main courses & the accompanying dishes more than made up for the starters. We ate grilled lemon sole £13.50. & baked sea bass which were large & well cooked. These were served with chips, new potatoes, leeks, carrots, peas & an unusual mixed salad.  There was masses of food. Only one pud was chosen which was spotted dick & custard, very good.

I chose the West Country Cheese Board, a mixture I think of 5 cheeses, all of them scrummy!

The service was friendly & efficient. The Loos fresh & clean.

When I revisit this area I shall look forward to eating here again.

 Cost with 2 bottles of wine & pre-lunch drinks, £ £ £ £.

Yummy factor  9/10
The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
