Revisited April 2009

We started with the most delicious Moules Mariner, really plump and succulent, sourced in Shetland and a warm Goats Cheese salad.  Our mains, Crispy Duck served with sauté potatoes, broccoli and cabbage and my choice a Sirloin Steak with mushrooms and French fries.  The duck is an old favourite and always good, the steak was perfectly cooked and very tender.

This venue has long been a personal favourite of mine; we always get well cooked fresh food that is excellent value for money!  We enjoyed a bottle of Chateau des Crozes Corbieres 2006 @ £17.00

Revisited August 2005.... still fantastic food, atmosphere & prices, still a great favourite!

Visited October 2001 and many other times, an all time favourite!

We always use The Bistro part of Le Chanteclerc  as it is a less expensive option and always wonderful value for money.  I believe the restaurant is also excellent & I know they offer a fixed price menu for £18.  Bookings are always advisable as both are always busy!

On my last visit I started with Moules which were succulent and perfectly cooked.  To follow I had a veal chop with a sage & white wine sauce, sauté potatoes, mange tout, broccoli, & carrots.  Absolutely yummy!  My husband started with Feta cheese with tomato & avocado followed by a very tasty, tender, and perfectly cooked (as usual) sirloin steak with French fries.  To round off a lovely meal I had a delicious crème brulee.  The menu is small but the blackboard is always interesting.  Our dinner for 2 with a bottle of wine & 3 drinks was

9/10  and   because has been consistently enjoyable for many years!
