Re Visited May 2008
As you will see from the many reports on our site this is one of our favourite restaurants, probably because it is so consistently good and has now been established in Romsey for 16 years.
We were a party of 10 for the 7pm sitting on Saturday 3rd May 2008. We were celebrating two milestone birthdays and so chose an establishment where good food and atmosphere were guaranteed, once again we were not disappointed. They were very busy but our food was excellent and we were not kept waiting long between courses. We all had 2 courses and a few had 3! Our wine was the house red and white - too many of us to make different choices but it was very gluggable!

UPDATE: Visited many times but most recently by me in August 2003.
Guest report by A.A. A memorable luncheon was taken a couple of weeks ago (June 2001) by two ladies at "La Parisienne" in Romsey. The menu and staff are French. The service was excellent and French! Soupe de poissons was delectable. Moules Marinere were unsurpassable - the moules were huge and delicately cooked. Iles Flottantes were as good as served en France. Decent wines by the (large) glass. Price around £10 per head. If we had had main courses they were of average price £12.50-£15.00 or so. All in all, the best restaurant food I have had for some time. They also serve "Bar Meals"- that area looked very busy. We went early and got a table O K. It did fill up rapidly. We were there on a week day. Incidentally I am a "Gourmet" and have a passing knowledge and appreciation of "fine wines". Thanks again CJ, from your well fed cousin and gourmandiser!
August 2001
I wish I was as eloquent as my gourmet cousin! It is the end of August & I am delighted to say I have just lunched at the ever delightful Parisienne having not visited for several months. The standard of food & service is as high as ever and the very French atmosphere is always so enjoyable. Very busy so unless you intend to arrive early would recommend booking. Opening hours are on their web site, address above.
Six of us had one of the set menus, 3 courses for £11.95. Several of us had the frisse salad with bacon & croutons covered with an excellent, garlic loaded, dressing. The other favourite starter was gazpacho which was unusually thick & creamy & again tons of garlic! The main courses we chose were grilled salmon & brochette of chicken with lemon. For pudding we had 3 flavours of sorbet and chocolate mousse to die for! With house wine,

Still 9/10
P.S. The waiters have a great sense of humour. I gave them our card "You are being visited by Ladies who Lunch in Hampshire" with the web address on. They sent back to our table one of their business cards with "You are being served by French people who work in Hampshire" and their fictional address www.frenchwhoworkinhampshire.co.uk !!!!!! We will visit even more now!
