For any equestrian enthusiasts this is the venue for
you. The Restaurant is owned by Pinkmead Farm Equestrian Centre so whilst
eating your meal, during the day, you can watch horses being
trained/exercised in the indoor area which is part of the restaurant. As
it was only built about 2 years ago its in good decorative order and we all
agreed it is a quirky find! Because of the restaurant being part of
the farm they are open Mon - Fri 11am - 11pm, Sat 9am - 11pm and Sun 9am -
6pm.
From a very varied menu we chose for starters, homemade
fishcakes with salad, prawn salad, soup of the day - winter vegetable- and
farmhouse pate. All generous portions and well presented. For our main
courses, a lasagne and salad, several chose fish pie with fresh vegetables,
a Cajun chicken salad and a supreme chicken breast with Parma ham and fresh
vegetables. Starters around £5/6 and mains £8/10. Again generous portions
and because of that we finished off with just coffees although the
puddings sounded yummy and were homemade. We were 8 so we had 3 bottles of
wine! A good lunch was had by all, the only adverse comments were the fish
cakes needed more seasoning and the service was a little slow! They were
busy for a Thursday lunchtime.
