News c/o Big Hospitality, if you are a foodie sign up to their newsletter! Heston Blumenthal has just opened his third eaterie in the same village and his second pub. The Crown in Bray, Berkshire, is opposite Blumenthal's first pub the Hind's Head and down the road from the chef's legendary three-Michelin-starred Fat Duck restaurant, which took third place in the World's 50 Best Restaurant Awards earlier this year. Food is being served Tuesday to Saturday 12noon to 2.30pm and 6.30pm to 9.30pm, but not on Sundays at present. The menu is focusing on simple, traditional English food with dishes including mussels, steak and ale pie and steak burger. Desserts feature banana Eton mess, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate tart. The food offer is believed to be not dissimilar to that of sister site the Hind's Head, which opened in 2005. Bray is increasingly being nicknamed 'Braymenthal' because of the huge influence the chef has had on the village. Padstow in Cornwall is dubbed "Padstein" because of the number of businesses chef Rick Stein has in the town! |

On Wednesday October 6th we will be holding a Discount Card Holders lunch at the Crown Inn, Everton, Nr Lymington. The menu is exciting and as their food is fabulous we are expecting a delicious lunch. It will be £28 a head for fizz and canapés on arrival, 3 courses and coffee. We have been spoilt rotten today by Genii... Cup Cakes for all occasions.
