Restaurant 54 is in a wonderful position overlooking the 18 hole Golf Course. Non members are welcome to play or dine in these lovely surroundings. There is a cosy bar area and plenty of outside seating.

We were warmly welcomed and after ordering our drinks (at club prices!) we were seated at a table overlooking the country scene.  The menu has both snacks and main meals with a good variety of choices and not overpriced. Roughly £13 for a two course lunch and on Sunday £16 or £21 for three courses. Sunday Roasts also available.  They also do cream teas!  Opening times: 9am-5pm Tuesday to Saturday, Sunday lunch 12-3pm.

We selected the Chicken Carbonara with mushrooms and smoked bacon, Beer Battered Whiting with chips and salad, Black Bream Fillet with chips & salad - all delicious and well presented. The inclusion of a side salad with the Carbonara would have been a welcome addition to this dish.

For deserts we selected the Meringue filled with hazelnut chocolate mousse topped with raspberries - WOW quite rich but very yummy(!) and the Autumn fruit crumble with custard.

All in all it was enjoyable, friendly staff, plenty of room and worth a visit. As it's open to non members, suggest you drop in and give it a try. Visit their website for more details.
