Revisited   30/12/09

Revisited Prezzo's in Romsey for lunch using one of their regular offers which are really good value. Go to www.vouchercodes.co.uk   where they either offer, 2 for 1 main courses or two courses and a glass of wine for £10. We were using the 2 for 1 main courses and that  saved us £8.50! They can be used any time provided you print off the voucher.

We enjoyed starters of Goats Cheese with caramalised onions and  balsamic glaze ; Crab cakes with tartare sauce. £4.95 each followed by main courses of  Spaghetti carbonara;  Caesar salad with Chargrilled chicken.  We did manage a bottle of House Red, Sangiovese Rubicone @£12.95

All delicious.  The staff always bid us welcome and their friendly service and the general ambience of this lovely old building makes for a pleasant experience.

Prezzo is still a very popular venue, great ambience in such an historic building but I have to say it does need some TLC here and there, especially the Loos (Still no lock on the door and its over a year since our last visit!!) a general makeover in that department is really necessary.

Nine of us went for dinner and we were seated upstairs where there are two separate dining rooms for more private get togethers. Prices are reasonable and we were dining on a special offer (2 main courses for the price of 1) so we splashed out with adequate house wine!!

Our Antipasti starters were: Crocchetta di Granchio (crab cakes with lime & dill dip), Insalata di Spinaci (pancetta, avocado and cherry tomatoes) Caprese (buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, herbs and balsamic glaze).

Our Mains were: Linguine carbonara, Pollo Fungi (chicken, field mushrooms, baby spinach served with gratinated potatoes), Salmone e Avocado salad (oak roasted fillet (rather small),sundried tomatoes and mixed leaves with lime & dill dressing), Pollo e spinaci salad (chargrilled chicken breast on a bed of spinach, cherry tomatoes and croutons) and of course one of us enjoyed a Pizza.

A good time was had by all but I do hope they will let us know when they have fixed up some of the overlooked areas.
