| NB 2011 Now just known as The White Hart, need to re visit. Sadly on this re vist we have had to down grade Blubeckers at The White Hart, from a Silver to a Bronze. See new marking below. Its been a while since we visited this venue so three of us popped in for a light bite. We were surprised how busy the restaurant was on a wet Tuesday so it is obviously popular. They have an extensive menu for all tastes which can be viewed on their website. There is a special two Course Lunch menu @ £9.95 - good value. We chose from the Light Lunches menu, Wild Mushroom & Tarragon Risotto served with slivers of Parmesan cheese, Chicken & Bacon salad and Thai Fishcakes with lemon grass & coriander & a sweet chili sauce. We shared a bottle of Chilean Monte Verde Merlot - £12.55.
We were happy with our choices but the service was very slow - there must have been a lack of staff in the kitchen. ££ inc wine!! New marking below. Original Visit February 2006 We love Edwinn's restaurants & as Blubeckers are part of the same group thought we would try out our local one at what used to be The White Hart. It was surprising when we drove up to find the outside looking almost exactly the same as when it was the pub, the interior however has been given a modern make-over so the decor is very chique. The reviews we had heard so far have been mixed but as soon as we walked in we were given a very warm welcome by both the girl behind the bar and a nearby waitress; it is so lovely to be greeted with a big smile. All the staff were young friendly & efficient. It was not very busy but did not feel empty because of the different areas with in the restaurant. We were asked what we would like to drink as soon as we sat at our table, always a plus in my opinion! The wine arrived very quickly as did the requested jug of water and, a nice touch, glasses full of ice & lemon to drink it from. |

| | The menu is very varied, you can read it on their web site. Two of us opted for salads from the Starters & Lite Bites section, Crayfish, Crab & Rocket Salad with lemon & dill mayonnaise Spinach, Avocado, Bacon & Stilton Salad. One chose an Old Fashioned Steak, Ale & Stilton Pie, see Above, from the Favourites list, it was served with baked jacket potato & fresh veggies. There is also a daily specials board. We were all very pleased as the salads were fresh with excellent flavours & the pie was light, fluffy & tasty. Good crunchy veggies. All three of us chose Eton Mess for pud, very yummy! We finished with coffees and agreed that our experience at Blubeckers had been excellent. | Ladies Who Lunch Scoring:Quality of food Variety of menu Staff and service Ambience, setting and decor Value for Money
