LWL Bronze Award - Awarded December 2010 - Cost ££££

I met a friend for lunch at The Cloud Hotel.  Whilst parking I was asked by 2 members of staff to move my car as they were going to be very busy, not an auspicious start!

The first impression is of a traditional and rather old fashioned interior.  The owner is an ex Tiller Girl and there are lots of references to the stage.

The lunch menu was also very traditional; Sea Food Terrine and Chicken & Pineapple were our choice of starters both served with a warm bread roll.  We both chose Roast Pork for our main course which with crackling and apple sauce was delicious.

The service was very good and a nice feature is the self service coffee you can have in cosy areas of the hotel.  The venue suited us very well as we were able to sit and chat in comfort.

The 2 course menu for £13 is good value for money.  The puddings sounded very good but we were full up.  We each had a glass of wine and our bill was just under ££££.

Ladies Who Lunch Scoring:

Quality of food 3/5
Variety of menu 3/5
Staff and service 3/5
Ambience, setting & decor 3/5
Value for Money 4/5

Total Yummy Factor

16/25

Report: SA

5/5 = Cannot be improved upon, 4/5 = Very good, 3/5 = Good,
2/5 = Satisfactory, 1/5 = Poor, 0/5 = Terrible

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service. The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive. (Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head)
