| Today three of us met up for lunch with Sally Cronin of the Portsmouth radio station, Express FM 93.7! (Sally uses our reviews on her Sunday morning show). For convenience we chose Giraffe in Gunwharf Quays. After a little light shopping (!) we met Sally and were greeted on entry by the charming Ramon who managed to eventually prise the order from four non stop chatting women! Giraffe is one of the newest of the many restaurants in Gunwharf Quays and has the advantage of being very near to the Spinnaker Tower making it a popular choice. Don’t really know how to describe their cuisine other than a mixture of Latin, European and Asian flavours; their mantra, “Love Eat Live” we are not going to argue with that! Giraffe has been designed to create a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy just a coffee or food all day long. |

| | | Our choices from were three starters to share: Chicken Potstickers, fried chicken dumplings served with a soy- chilli dip, they looked bland but turned out to be our favourite, Edamame, soy bean pods wok fried in soy, chilli & mirin (sweetened Japanese rice wine) and Crunchy Japanese Tiger Prawns with sweet chilli & lime dipping sauce. Mains: my choice, “The Big Greek” Lamb Focaccia Burger was not good when it arrived, sad lettuce and a dry burger BUT Ramon noted I was not happy and immediately arranged a replacement which was delicious but how the first one managed to get out of the kitchen I do not know! The others chose: Bang Bang Chicken Salad, shredded chicken salad with egg noodles & lots of chopped vegetables in a spicy peanut dressing, Good Old Steak & Chips, steak was moist, tender and cooked as ordered and finally Peri Peri Grilled half Chicken which SA chose to have served with green herby rice. Only two puds to share: Apple & Berry Crumble and a Tropical “Reggae” Sundae both yummy and massive portions, far too large as we were already really full but needed to check them out for you! To drink we had one G & T and a bottle of Pinot Grigio and finished with coffees.
