Well if you could have the Creative Catering Company come to cook for you daily who would ever want to go out?? Having being lucky enough to have just experienced one of their lunches in my house the answer is a resounding NO! This was lottery style luxury but it only cost about the same as any restaurant capable of serving this quality of food would charge. Phone calls to Helen in the office to discuss our menu (they have a massive choice) and the arrangements were a pleasurable start to our Creative Catering experience, she was very helpful. Kaye (left), who founded the company over 20 years ago with her husband David, arrived promptly with her chef Rob (above). They then took over the kitchen and the dining room whilst I just had to enjoy the company of my guests, how relaxing!!

| | | The table was laid with a pristine white linen tablecloth, gleaming cutlery and shining glasses! There was a warmed container of individual home made delicious bread rolls.Obviously we all ate the same, our starter, Caramelised red onion and goat’s cheese tart tatin with spiced garden salad leaves and toasted walnut salad (a lot of the salad is grown in Kaye’s garden & we loved the unusual inclusion of nasturtium leaves & chive flowers). Main, Slow roasted rolled shoulder of lamb with an apricot, rosemary and pine kernel stuffing, red wine and stock sauce served with Dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal vegetables and our pud Brandy snap basket with sauternes infused grapes topped with lemon syllabub. Everything was divine, the tart was light and fluffy, the lamb was so full of flavour with delicious gravy and we all agreed the pud was one of the nicest we’ve ever had! This was followed by a cafétiere of coffee accompanied by a wonderful plate of chocolate laden brownies, physalis & blueberries. We then retired to the garden and when Kaye & Rob left there was not one item left in the kitchen or dining room for me to clear up… absolute bliss and I highly recommend; if only we could enjoy such a treat more often! Do look at their website as they cater for all sorts of occasions and if you have an event coming up they would be sure to please. They even arrange marquee hire.
