Its quite a long time since we four LWL were filmed at The Chestnut Horse for Meridian Tonight; that was a fun episode in our many years of restaurant reviewing! Since then The Chestnut Horse has changed hands but delighted to say it is still a wonderful venue. I visited with a friend for lunch and it was a delight! It was a sunny day so many people were eating on the attractive flower filled patio but they were hardier than us, there was a cold wind so we ate inside. The interior is genuinely olde worlde as the building is 16th century, lots of interesting nooks and crannies and different areas in which to eat.As soon as we walked in we were greeted, asked what we would like to drink and the suggestion was made that the drinks were put on a tab, a refreshing change as we usually have to ask! The friendly service and attention to detail continued throughout our visit, such lovely staff. |

| We ate from the 2 courses for £12 menu; we both chose to have a starter and a main. Thai fishcake, sweet chilli sauce and Potted beef, Ciabatta Croutes. Our mains their Famous Fish & Chips and Sausage & Mash, Onion Gravy, all the food was delicious. We drank a white wine spritzer each and finished with coffees. We recommend and judging by how busy they are may be a good idea to book.
