After a morning sightseeing in the beautiful city of Krakow steeped in history, next on the agenda was lunch.  It would have been easy to go directly to the elaborate city square filled with vendors and tourist restaurants.  Not for us.  On our way from the Castle we espied on a side street a welcoming umbrella indicating an alfresco opportunity for lunch without the hoards of visitors.
 
Better yet there was a "lunch dnia" (menu of the day) which three of us decided to try;  it consisted of tasty soup of a vegetable nature, followed by fish lightly dipped in a crumbed coating and pan fried served with cooked to order fries (fish and chips, but not as we know it!)  The man in our party went for "linguine z krewtkami".  Dessert was a whisper of sponge with jam.
 
Ice cold bottled water was delivered to the table to start the lunch and then a bottle of Santa Digna But (a dry rose wine) beautifully served and so good it deserved two bottles!
 
The deal of the day was definitely the lunch dnia at 20 zl for three courses.  The wine was 30 zl per bottle and so good.  Cost ££
