The Gamekeepers is tucked away up a pretty country lane with beautiful olde worlde cottages welcoming you along the way.

The venue is more gastro pub than drinking establishment, although there is a sofa area too. Food is locally sourced and very fresh.

I had the Venison with potatoes, wilted cabbage with cheese, carrots and mange tout, all beautifully cooked and a generous portion too.  Peggy had creamy Linguini with wild mushrooms and free range chicken stuffed with cheese.  We were too full to explore the dessert menu, so will be back.

Only negative point: As its a very old building, windows are small and its a little dark. (The big open fire will no doubt compensate for this shortly).
