LWL Bronze Award - Awarded April 2009 - Cost £££

I first visited this 15th century Coaching Inn a year ago; I was very pleased to do a return visit as both the food and service were good.  They were very busy, it was on a Friday but all was running efficiently with friendly staff.  We sat in the bar area which was very cosy, the old beams and high back chairs adding to its charm.

We chose from the 2 course special lunch menu @ £12.95.  Choices of 5 starters and 5 mains so a good variety.  For starters we chose  Warm Goats Cheese on toast with  caramelised peppers and onions served with salad leaves, and Duck Confit Terrine with balsamic dressing with a garnish of salad leaves.

For main courses we selected: Sirloin steak with hand cut chips and Beef & Red wine pie with cheesy mash. Both were delicious so I have now upped the quality of food to 3/5!

Al fresco dining: Lovely gardens & views.

2/5 = Satisfactory, 1/5 = Poor, 0/5 = Terrible

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service. The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive. (Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head)
