This great Mexican restaurant and bar, established in 1999, was our choice recently for our last lunch for the three of us before the "boss" returns from Oz! We wanted some different flavours and we certainly found them. The 1st choice was to have a classic Mexican cocktail rather then our usual G & T's, very adventurous. SA chose a classic Margarita and SM a Mexican Mai Tai, both £4.95. JI - the driver - had a non alcoholic mango spice £3.50. Our favourite was the classic Margarita, delicious! Whilst enjoying our cocktails we nibbled some huge coriander and chili olives, £2.30 together with warm chili poppers and freshly made salsa £2.50. Very tasty. |

| Cantina are offering a great lunch for £6 which includes a free soft drink and obviously for research purposes we had one of each of the 4 choices. 2nd photo – Quesadilla, with fajita chicken and spicy fries. 3rd photo – Burrito, with Yucatan pork, rice, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole with Frijoles pinto beans. 4th photo - Soft Tacos with spiced beef mole and green rice. 5th photo – Salad, 2 crispy tortilla baskets filled with Mexican, chopped salad, char grilled vegetables and spiced slaw. The idea is to choose one of the 4 choices, then select your filling from 4 choices and finally you pick a side from 4 choices and wash the lot down with a choice of 4 soft drinks! Needless to say we washed ours down with a light, not too dry, Spanish El Mura Rosado @ £13.95. You may well be confused! If so have a look at Menuand all will be explained! To complete the titillation of our taste buds we finished with deep fried Rum and Raisin ice cream in a chimichanga wrap with cajeta sauce along with an Avocado & Lime cheesecake both £5. The cheesecake was our favourite as it was not too sweet and very light. Excellent Fair Trade coffee at £1.75 a cup completed what turned out to be an absolutely scrummy lunch. Don't be put off by the road works outside, regrettably they are going on till Sept! We were looked after by the lovely and very efficient Elaine who, along with the rest of the staff, was very friendly. Must mention that we have found that Ideal Leisure do manage to recruit some great staff.
