We don't normally review takeaways but Gino's is unique.  Its not a chain; Gino the owner believes in serving authentic Italian food using only the freshest of ingredients.  For a relaxing change why not buy the wine, order from Gino's and enjoy restaurant standard food in the comfort of your home?

We chose from their online menu but they do have menus you can pick up in the shop.  The service is good, I phoned in our order and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes.  I decided to collect it as I wanted to see the inside of the shop; it was immaculately clean with an open kitchen and chef in full whites.  They do deliver free for orders over £12 and within a 3 mile radius but will quote a charge for longer distances.

The four of us decided to share an order of Garlic Pizza Bread (12" base) @ £2.95 and 2 starters.  An Italian Salad (above left) with sun dried tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, mixed peppers, onions, cherry tomatoes, rocket salad, balsamic & olive oil dressing @ £4.95 and an Antipasto Italiano (above middle) Italian platter of mixed salami's san daniele parma ham & marinated pickles & vegetables @ £4.25.  They are pictured in their delivery pots but are very generous portions when tipped out so very good value, both were delicious.  For mains, 1st choice (above right) Penne Arrabiata, penne pasta in a delicious Napoli sauce with garlic chilies, onions and sliced pepperoni sprinkled with parmesan shavings... excellent flavour.

Next choice a Pizza Americano (above left), tomato base, mozzarella cheese, onions, peppers, pepperoni sausage, oregano @ £7.25, then Penne Carbonara (above middle) with cream, egg yolk, bacon, cracked black pepper and parmesan cheese @ £6.25 and finally Pizza Ginos (above right) a cheese & tomato base with a little bit of everything and "lots of love"!

I think love has gone into the creation of all of Gino's dishes they are full of flavour and obviously freshly prepared.  Give yourself a break from the kitchen, put your feet up and give Gino a call!
