Visited May 2002 (This venue is in the Discount Directory) Revisited June 2004, again for snack lunch, funny, this time they had run out of baguettes as well, strongly suggest you ask what they have got when you order!
Another typical English pub on the edges of the New Forest.
Just popped in here to meet a friend in her lunch hour, so a very brief visit. We each chose a bacon & mushroom baguette, they'd run out of baguettes so gave us toasties instead. Delicious & bursting with filling, excellent for a quick snack. Would revisit!
Cost, with a glass of wine, less than £ £.

The dieter had mussels in cream sauce which were very good! Two people had whitebait & one deep fried brie all of which were very large portions & well presented. We were very impressed by the help given by the person taking the order. The final decision was from the specials board, mixed fish platter & salad. The avocado & crispy bacon salad was excellent & contained--everything but the kitchen sink! [ potato, peppers, sweet corn, mushroom etc ] but after the large starters proved to be too much! The last two diners chose Lambs liver with bacon & onions & Fillet steak, served with sauté potatoes chips & a selection of vegetables. The service was friendly & I would certainly visit again
