Flounders, is the seafood restaurant at The American Bar

I visited the American Bar with three friends  not knowing at the time that the restaurant area is called Flounders!  We were making the most of the £5 for two courses offer from the Sunday and daily Times as it finished that day!  What a lovely find, the place had great atmosphere and the staff young and very polite.

We took our G & T's to our table and were presented with "the offer" menu shown here.

Three had  Ciabatta Bruschetta and one had  Whitebait, all excellent.  We all had  Salmon, very tasty sauce and nice crunchy vegetables.   Looking around at other diners, who were not on the Times menu, the food looked really good with ample sized portions.  When it came to the puddings one chose bread and butter pudding and as the Chocolate and Pear pudding had run out they produced a delicious Bakewell tart.  Again ample portions.  We also had two bottles of Pino Grigio at £10.95 making our total bill £15.00 a head.

Will definitely revisit!

 Cost £ £ £

Yummy factor 8/10 (as we only sampled the special menu).

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
