Ennio's serves traditional Italian Cuisine in charming surroundings. From Monday to Saturday there is a Lunchtime Specials Menu - a choice of 5 dishes all at £4.95  There is also a blackboard showing suggestions of the day and an A la Carte main menu.

We chose starters from the main menu: Whitebait garnished with salad leaves; Insalata della Casa (rocket with pancetta and Parmesan cheese; garlic Ciabatta bread with sundried tomatoes, cheese and anchovies.  We both selected our main course from the "specials menu" Four cheese tagliatelle and Wild mushroom risotto with parmesan cheese. Both were delicious. I must add I have been looking for a good risotto for ages and at last I have found it!! All our choices were well presented and delicious. The large glasses of wine we each selected with guidance from our waiter were good too. He was very courteous and helpful.

It is a pity that on this lunchtime (a Tuesday) there were very few diners as it is a lovely venue with good food at reasonable prices.

I recommend you give it a try.

At this time The Times were issuing vouchers to use in participating restaurants.  They entitled the bearer to a 2 course meal for £5.00.  Excellent value!  Ennio's was the first place I used them & as requested I informed them when I booked that I had the vouchers.  They made us very welcome & gave us the special Times menu.  The restaurant has a warm atmosphere, even though it wasn't very busy, and the service was excellent.  The food was delicious but to be quite honest as it is now May I cant really remember what we ate.  This may also be due to the fact that we were having a celebration, we were not driving, and so had G&T's, a bottle wine, AND amaretto's with our coffee!!  So even though our food was only £10 the total was

They must have been very pleased with the extras we bought and we will go again for the full price at some time!

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
