Revisited December 2003 Still excellent food &, as this was
lunch time, amazing value as most dishes only £7!
Visited April 2003
This is a very rural pub with excellent food.
The scallops in garlic butter,
£4.75, were the best I've
tasted for a long time & a very generous portion.
The menu is small but interesting.
Paella as a starter. £4.50.
Waterzoo [posh Flemish fish stew.]
Fish & Chips [Dover Sole].
The pan fried Rib-eye Steaks with anchovy butter
were slightly over cooked but very tasty & the whole Brill with raspberry vinegar
was good.
All the vegetables come as a £1.50
extra. The chips are
£2.00 but excellent.
The puds are all £4.50 & the cheese board £5.00
With three courses pre-dinner drinks 2 bottles of
wine , 4 coffees & 2 brandies our bill was £124.00. certainly not cheap,
but worth the money!
