A Hungry Horse Restaurant  www.hungryhorse.co.uk

Visited October 2003

I visited this pub/eatery on a Monday night in October to find it very busy and we all thought this was a good sign.  Wrong!  Briefly the staff are very nice and friendly but the food was not good.

Once you've found a table you order at the bar and you are then served.  We had no starters, 2 decided on  chicken tandori kebab at £6.99 each.  The chicken was over cooked and salty not spicy.  One had a salmon lasagne which was o.k. and the best of the bunch!  Another had super scampi - there was nothing super about it!  Lastly one sweet and sour chicken at £6.99.  Although this is cheap it certainly is not cheerful.  The puds were 2 chocolate stampedes, 1 apple crumble and custard and one small pot of chocolate mousse. These were much nicer - well you can't go wrong with anything sweet and gooey - can you?

Only a choice of one white or red wine but not badly priced at £8.95 a bottle.

We did not go home hungry horses but certainly were not satisfied ones!!
Cost £ £

Yummy Factor 4/10

 Report by SM.

The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.  The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive.  ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head )
