This pub is situated in the centre of he village
of Cobham and has plenty of parking at the rear and field area for kids to
play in.
It is also licensed to hold Civil Weddings in the
beamed loft conversion seating 50 people. I mention this because this
was the reason I was there. I attended a wedding on Easter Monday for
about 30 people and thought I would write a report as our food was really good
so presumably the normal pub food would be similar. Lunches are served
between 12 and 2.30 and evening meals between 6.00 and 9.30. Traditional
Sunday lunch between 12noon and 2pm.
We were given a choice of starters - prawn
cocktail, soup, melon or pate. Followed by chicken in a cream sauce,
salmon in a prawn and cheesy sauce, beef in red wine sauce, all served with
new potatoes, peas and carrots. The food was hot and tasty. Our
sweet was small meringue nests filled with cream and fresh strawberries.
There was also a choice of main courses for the children. I understand
from the "happy couple" that they were charged £21 per head.
This included coffee or tea and wine on the table or soft drinks.
Can thoroughly recommend for a small wedding, the
intimate friendly atmosphere was most enjoyable. The only drawback it would
not be possible to get a wheelchair up to the room where the wedding was
held. But obviously for normal pub grub etc. that is all on one level.
Yummy factor 7/10

| The
higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service.
The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive. ( Roughly
one £ sign = £5 per head ) |
