Any excuse to go out and eat on a wet
Sunday, but this time we did have one! A friend was celebrating her 60th
Birthday and this Pub is one of their favourites. For us Townies its a bit
off the beaten track but well worth trying to find it! Typical unspoilt
countryside pub that is well known by walkers and dog owners. The
Chef/Owner Keith has been the resident chef for many years and the owner for
about two.
The menu was very varied and the chalk board, changed daily,
has plenty of choices. Now because we were a party of 12 I shall
not be listing all choices! Just to say everyone enjoyed it, their
roast is £9.95 and most other main courses were around £10 mark and puds
were £4.95. Good size portions and although doing very good
business we were not kept waiting long. We were all
treated by the Husband of the Birthday Girl so hence a bit vague on prices
and wine choices....... we did have rather a lot!! Should have
talked to Keith more but he was very busy and I was drinking!!!
However, he had just been over to New York to do some cooking in Gordon
Ramsay's Restaurant and and we sampled one of the wonderful creations he
made, a gorgeous hot chocolate and honey fondant to die
for!! This is definitely a pub with good food as opposed to a pub turned
into a restaurant.
Cost roughly £ £ £ £ £
