Four of us visited for Sunday lunch.  Good atmosphere & plenty to choose from.  The fish soup was served with rouille, parmesan & garlic cloves to rub on the croutons... excellent.  Smoked duck breast, served on mixed leaves with spring onion, balsamic & plum reduction and fresh raspberries was delicious.  Thai moules, again excellent but just a touch too much cream, very, very tasty though.  Last starter choice was the least successful.  Thai crab cakes, judged to have little or no flavour besides potatoes.  As the other starters scored so highly not a big complaint.  Our main courses were all very diverse & mostly very good.  Roast lamb was plentiful with lots of roast potatoes, parsnips & Yorkshire pud.£ 7.50.  Whole Torbay sole with purple basil butter, large & very moist, £ 13.95.  Surfing Chicks, £12.95, was scampi tails & chicken breast sautéed in a pernod & cream sauce ( not too creamy this time!), very good.  Last choice braised partridge ( slightly dry) on a bed of risolee potatoes with a port & wild mushroom gravy which was lovely.  It will come as no surprise that that no one could manage a pud but my greedy son asked for a piece of mango & orange cheesecake to take away!  We all tasted it at home, it was good.

The Boat House was very busy & you could call in for almost anything at any time of day!  Looking forward to my next visit.
