Visited March 2005

3 of us met here for lunch, I pre booked as all their adverts say booking essential but there were only 2 other tables occupied so not a very exciting atmosphere.  Perhaps they are busy at night, in fact it looks like a night time venue, not at its best in day light.  A shame as I had been looking forward to visiting bleu ever since it opened, I think it was the promise of reasonably priced wine that appealed.  The wine lived up to expectations a Nobilio Sauvignon for £10.10 has got to be good value in a restaurant!

We chose 3 main courses from the spring luncheon menu.  Grilled mushrooms stuffed with garlic & cheese, bleu burger served with sun dried tomato relish & homemade chips (wish they had tasted as good as they look!), & penne pasta with sun dried tomato, peppers & garlic in a cream sauce topped with shaved parmesan.  All were fine but not very special!  We felt they would benefit by having choices of baguettes & sandwiches at lunch time.

The only waiter on duty was very charming & polite but obviously not happy that he was the only one on duty, we felt sorry for him.
