What a shame! Three of us have been trying to visit this pub for ages as we have heard so much about it, it has had rave reviews both in some of the local mags and from friends BUT they all had dinner here! I think it is almost unfair of us to rate it for lunch as they obviously don't worry too much about encouraging a lunch time trade, the choice was very limited and they have no desserts on offer at lunch time.
There is a patio area but apart from this it is definitely a night time pub. I am sure at night the general shabbiness of the place would be endearing and make it full of character... in daylight it just looks, well, shabby! The same goes for all the unusual artifacts on the walls and ceiling, amusing at night, during the day the cobwebs are a bit off putting.
It didn't help the atmosphere that it was almost empty and it was a Friday.

Two of us chose the Penne Pasta with Roasted Vegetables, Tomato & Goats Cheese. Very tasty but would have been better served with a green salad as it was so rich. The other choice was Beer Battered Haddock & Chips. We washed this down with a couple of Spritzers. |

Cost just over £ £
Yummy Factor 5/10 but sure it would be much higher for dinner, we must try & do another review soon.

| The higher the "Yummy" factor, the better the food & service. The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive. ( Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head ) |
