This is the first time we have tried a Bella Pasta & we were very impressed. We ( SM & CJ) were in the Victoria area as we we were going to a show at The Victoria Palace, It was very early evening, walked around looking at several restaurants & chose this one as it looked a warm & welcoming Italian! Didn't even realize it was part of a chain until we were handed the menus. Very friendly young waitress. Hardly anyone in when we arrived, it was packed when we left at about 7.0pm.
Started off by ordering a bottle of Trevini Trebbiano
Rubicone, a very palatable house white. It was very welcome, well we
had had a hard days sightseeing! Our starters.. Pane con Salsa For
2 to share (Toasted focaccia, Sardinian crispbread and rosemary Grissini, served
with cheese, pesto and spicy tomato dips.) & Olive Marinate.
Very tasty. We also shared the 2 main course choices, Carne
Mista Pizza
(Pepperoni, smoked ham, pancetta bacon and Napoli sausage) a tad too salty for
me, & Liguine al Pesto Genovese (A classic basil pesto of
crushed pine nuts, basil, parmesan, garlic and olive oil). Yummy!
The pudding we shared was to die for!!! The Godfather (Nutty chocolate
fudge brownies, vanilla, toffee and chocolate ice cream with chocolate crunch,
chocolate sauce, cream and waffle biscuits) 50,000 calories in a
dish! Followed with black coffees.
Looking forward to trying the one in Southampton, a bit nearer to home.
